facility constructed and used on and after said effective <br /> date, shall be improved, constructed, maintained and operated <br /> in accordance with the following minimum requirements : <br /> " (1) The surface of every such parking and loading <br /> facility shall be designed and graded to provid.e <br /> adequate drainage, and such surface shall be <br /> constructed with a compacted base paved or surf aced <br /> with plant mix, asphaltum pavement, concrete, or <br /> other equivalent surfacing, approved by the <br /> Department of Public Works. <br /> " (2) Every such parking and loading facility not separated <br /> by a fence or similar barrier from any sidewalk, <br /> street, alley, or right-of-way which abuts thereto, <br /> shall have constructed thereon, and securety--�ttached <br /> thereto, a barrier, not less than six inches in <br /> height, and located not less than two feet from <br /> such sidewalk, street, alley, or right-of-way, to <br /> prevent any portion of any motor vehicle parked or <br /> stored on such facility from extending into such <br /> sidewalk, street, alley, or right-of-way. The <br /> design and installation of such barrier shall be <br /> subject to the approval of the City' s Department <br /> of Public Works. <br /> " (3) Every off-street parking and loading facility <br /> located in any non-residential district and adjoining <br /> any parcel of land located in any R (Residential) <br /> District shall be separated from such parcel by a <br /> solid wall, view-obscuring fence, compact evergreen <br /> hedge, or similar such device, constructed or <br /> installed to the maximum height allowed for fences <br /> in such adjoining R District wherever such maximum <br /> allowable height is six feet or less, or to a <br /> minimum height of six feet wherever such maximum <br /> allowable height for fences exceeds six feet; <br /> provided, however, that no such wall, fence, hedge, <br /> or device shall exceed the maximum allowable height <br /> for fences and walls specified in Section 31. 8; <br /> provided, further, that such wall, fence, hedge, <br /> or device shall comply with the provisions of <br /> Section 29. 75 of the Redwood City Code, relating <br /> to hazards or impediments to the progress or vision <br /> of persons travelling on public streets. <br /> " (4) Every off-street parking and loading facility, <br /> excluding access drives providing access to garage <br /> or carport spaces, shall conform to the requirement <br /> of, and be marked in accordance with, the provisions <br /> of Section 30 . 6 (a) hereof. <br /> " (5) Every access drive to an off-street parking and <br /> loading facility shall comply with the provisions of <br /> Section 30. 7 hereof, Section 30 . 17 (a) , above, and <br /> Article II (commencing with �29 . 15) of Chapter 29 <br /> of the Redwood City Code. <br /> -2- <br /> 1130 . ��s <br />
