She described the
San Mateo City model Council adopted that involved having boards, committees and
commission terms ending on the same day and establishing a citywide recruitment in the
Spring. Mayor Howard said more advertising should bring a larger response, and thanked
former Council Member Buchan, member of the Ad Hoc Committee, for her work on this
new approach.
Council Member Bain requested that recruitment advertising be placed in the Redwood
Shores Pilot.
MEMO 3/17/98
Mayor Howard requested that in addition to the Redwood City Almanac, the Redwood
- City Tribune, the San Mateo Times, and the Redwood Shores Pilot, recruitment
advertising also be placed on the Redwood City Home Page on the Web.
MEMO 3/17/98
Council Member Claire requested that recruitment advertising be placed in
Neighborhood Association newsletters.
MEMO 3/17/98
Council Members discussed the proposed schedule of three Interview Sessions on
Thursday nights in May, appointments during the June I Council meeting, and the group
swearing-in and reception on June 4. He said
Thursday night Interview Sessions would be difficult for him, and recommended that
Interview Sessions remain on Monday nights before the regular Council Meeting.
