<br /> A. Pauline Truscelli, Chair of the Redwood City Park and Recreation Commission, invited <br />everyone to the Senior Center sponsored "Spring Fling" fundraiser, 5:30 to 9 p.m., <br />Thursday, April 30, in the Veterans Memorial Senior Center. Mrs. Truscelli said her <br />husband, Vince, is planning a great pasta dinner and the Canada College Jazz Band will <br />provide the entertainment. The cost is a $10 donation to the proposed Senior Center Game <br />Room. <br /> B. Ralph Garcia, Redwood City Planning Commissioner, said a huge 200 year old oak tree, <br />out in front of his house, unfortunately fell over and had to be removed. He thanked the <br />City crew that came out at 10 p.m., worked until I a.m., and then returned at 7:30 p.m. the <br />next morning to cut up the tree and secure the area. Mr. Garcia said the crew members <br />were Jesus, Angel and Robert Mullin. Everyone applauded the great work of the City's <br />crew. <br />5. SUBJECT <br /> A. Conceptual Designs and Cost Estimates for Stulsaft and Stafford Parks (708,304) <br />Council to review and modify as necessary, the conceptual designs and cost estimates for <br />the renovation of Stulsaft and Stafford Parks as developed by Moore, Iacofano and <br />GoItsman Inc. of Berkeley. <br />REPORT: Parks, Recreation and Community Services Director Peter Griffiths, April 13, <br />1998 <br />Director Griffiths presented the Staff Report describing Council's direction in 1996 to <br />have staff prepare a detailed report of conditions at Stulsaft Park and others parks already <br />budgeted for improvements in the five year Capital Improvement Project budget. He said <br />that in December 1996 Council approved hiring a landscape architectural consultant to <br />develop conceptual designs and cost estimates för both Stulsaft and Stafford Parks. <br />Director Griffiths said that the consultant firm of Moore, Iacofano and GoItsman (MIG) <br />was selected, and in September 1997 MIG conducted neighborhood meetings to develop <br />information regarding what the park users and park neighbors desired in their parks. He <br />said about 50 people attended each meeting. <br />Director Griffiths introduced Tim Gilbert and Susan McKay ofMIG. <br />Tim Gilbert said the proposed designs were the culmination of a lot of effort by a lot of <br />people and the process was a wonderful community effort. Mr. Gilbert used poster boards <br />to show in detail the proposal for Stafford Park and how the new designs addressed the <br />concerns expressed at the public meetings. He credited the park users and neighbors with <br />being very involved, and said they "pulled these designs together."
