MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> This item limited to fifteen minutes. <br /> A. Viee Mayor Ruskin reported on the Bair Island Task Force which has had several <br /> meetings lately, and advised that a Report is being prepared and would be presented to <br /> Council shortly. Vice Mayor Ruskin said that former Council Member La Berge had been <br /> appointed to that Task Force, and it would be very helpful to the Task Force if she <br /> remained as a voting member representing the people of Redwood City. (205) <br /> Mayor Howard scheduled this item for the next agenda. <br /> MEMO 12/19/97 <br /> Viee Mayor Ruskin reported on the JP A Board meeting he attended this evening. "The <br /> Board passed, with only a couple of dissensions, both contracts to go forward. They also <br /> passed. .. the Communications Plan and the Preliminary Reimbursement Plan. The <br /> - majority of everything is moving forward." Vice Mayor Ruskin said some dissatisfaction <br /> had been voiced regarding some of the reimbursements, and that part was tabled until after <br /> the County has chosen a contract. He said that all the members were in support of the <br /> JPA's recommendations. (705) <br /> MEMO 12/19/97 <br /> B. Couneil Member Buehan invited everyone to attend the Christmas toy and book <br /> wrapping party on December 19, between 5 and 9 p.m. sponsored by Redwood City <br /> employees. <br /> Council Member Buchan asked for a status report on the Gunshot Locator System. She <br /> asked that New Year's Eve data be excluded. (205) <br /> MEMO 12/19/97 <br /> C. Council Member Hartnett said he had earlier in the week, asked City Manager Everett <br /> for a report on GID 1-64, including some of the issues Mr. Murphy had addressed earlier. <br /> He asked that the entire Council receive that report. Couneil Member Ira reported on a meeting that he and Council Member Leipzig had <br /> - with State Assemblyman Lempert regarding CaiTrans improvements on Highway 101.
