Update on Beautification and Code Enforcement Activities: (709) <br /> 1) Report: Councilman Ruskin and Code Enforcement Team; <br /> Councilman Ruskin presented a sununary of the Code Enforcement Team's report <br /> (on file in the City Clerk Department.) He apologized for the error in the Redwood <br /> City Connection that stated a determination had been made to begin the beautification <br /> of commercial thoroughfares with El Camino Real. He said that is one of the <br /> recommendations the Team included in the subject Report to Council for its final <br /> determination at this meeting. <br /> Councilman Ruskin discussed the team's follow through on the Council's priorities. <br /> Included in the report, with many subsets, 1) Continue to place priority on health and <br /> safety violations and enforce the most flagrant code violations in residential areas; 2) <br /> Select a Commercial ArealEntryway for Beautification and Code Enforcement; 3) <br /> Public Relations and Education; and 4) Abandoned Cars/Parking Ordinance. <br /> Councilman Ruskin said the City is monitoring health, safety and residential code <br /> violations problems, and enforcement has significantly improved. He said the most <br /> important Team recommendation is to "select a portion of El Camino Real as the first <br /> - commercial thoToughfare to be beautified and to be the subject of intense code <br /> enforcement.....
