III <br /> , <br /> <br /> Mayor Pro Tem Howard expressed concerns regarding the problems other cities were <br /> experiencing with their Underpass projects and asked staff to provide more details about <br /> - the selection process of the Construction Management Company and more information <br /> about this significant project. <br /> Senior Engineer Lee described the bidding, interviewing and prequalifying selection <br /> process employed by the City, and the need for full time construction management, <br /> inspection and material testing services. He described several projects Vali Cooper had <br /> managed, and explained how the City checked the company's references. Senior Engineer <br /> Lee described the upcoming public relations activities regarding the project, and advised <br /> that Jefferson Avenue would probably close shortly after July 4, 1997 and not reopen for <br /> approximately IS months. <br /> MIS: RUSKIN/CLAIRE.
