El Camino Real is swept once/week.Woodside Road between <br /> Broadway and El Camino Real is swept once/month. Both roads are swept between the <br /> hours of 4:00 a.m.to 6:00 a.m. <br /> • In 2008,the City implemented a pilot street sweeping program with parking enforcement <br /> on Douglas Avenue (between Spring Street and Middlefield Road) and Marshall Street <br /> (between Chestnut Street and Maple Street). Both streets are posted with"No Parking- <br /> Street Cleaning"signs with sweeping being conducted on the last Thursday or last Friday <br /> of every month between 7:00 a.m.and 9:00 a.m.As a result, sweeping practices are <br /> effective on both streets since the sweeper is reaching the curb.The City intends to <br /> continue with the pilot program since noticeable decreases in trash loads have been <br /> observed. <br /> • All other streets within TMA#1 are not posted with"No Parking- Street Cleaning" signs to <br /> prohibit parking during sweeping hours. In areas where sweeping is conducted between <br /> the hours of 4:00 a.m.and 6:00 a.m., cars are consistently not present when sweeping is <br /> conducted.As a result,sweeping practices are effective since the sweeper is reaching the <br /> curb.The presence of cars within residential areas is highly variable depending on when <br /> sweeping is conducted within the 7:30 a.m.to 2:00 p.m.time window.The sweeper is <br /> consistently reaching the curb within the downtown area,on major arterial roads and <br /> approaches near El Camino Real,Woodside Road and Middlefield Road (between <br /> Woodside Road and the City limits to the south). <br /> Implemented after MRP Effective Date and Prior to July 1,2014: <br /> • In August 2013,the City's Public Works Services Department purchased a Madvac LR50 <br /> ride-on vacuum (see below) to complement existing street sweeping and further reduce <br /> trash loads within the downtown area.
