Proclamation for Historic Preservation Week in Redwood City, May 11-17. 1997; <br /> Mayor Hartnett presented the proclamation to Redwood City Senior Planner Jany and <br /> Ken Rolandelli, Chair of the Redwood City Historic Resources Advisory Committee. <br /> Chairman Rolandelli thanked the Council for its support of historic preservation and <br /> invited everyone to participate in planned activities to celebrate the week. He announced a <br /> large banner had been placed over Broadway announcing Historic Preservation Week in <br /> Redwood City; a bronze plaque will be installed near the archway with historical <br /> information; historical walking tour May 17; the Lathrop House will have an open house, <br /> May 10, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.; tour of the historic Union Cemetery on May 17,2-4 p.m.; and <br /> --- there will be a 7th grade field trip occurring over several days, 700 students to tour historic <br /> places in Redwood City with lunch provided by Burger King and the Court House Coffee <br /> Shop. A history of the College of San Mateo celebrating its 75th Anniversary will be <br /> presented at the Redwood City Main Library on May 15, 7:30 p.m. sponsored by the <br /> Archives Committee. <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> C. Proclamation for Tourism Week in Redwood City, May 4-10, 1997; <br /> Mayor Hartnett read the proclamation describing the importance of tourism to the <br /> economy and cultural exchange in the County of San Mateo, and presented it to Byron <br /> Glover, Sales Executive of the San Mateo Convention and Visitors Bureau. <br /> ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> D. Proclamation for Water Awareness Month in Redwood City, May, 1997; <br /> Mayor Hartnett presented the proclamation to Manny Rosas, Redwood City Public <br /> Works Services Superintendent, who thanked the Council and described the annual <br /> Redwood City School Poster Contest in support of water conservation. Superintendent <br /> Rosas showed samples of the posters and thanked all the children and teachers involved in <br /> --- the program who continue to make it a huge success every year.
