He advised <br /> there were two vacancies on the Committee and encouraged interested people to apply. <br /> Chairman Bain described the Committee's process and recommendations for the <br /> Community Development Block Grant program (approximately $1 rnìllion from the <br /> Federal Government), and the Human Services Financial Assistance program (funds from <br /> the Redwood City General Fund, amount detennined by Council.) <br /> Councilman Claire advised he would not participate in any discussion or vote involving <br /> funds for Canada College. <br /> MEMO 5/20/97 <br /> Chairman Bain described the very tight restrictions and categories established by the <br /> Federal Govemment for CDBG distribution, and the history and guidelines established by <br /> Council for HSF A funds distribution.
