My house is my life. I work hard every week to make that mortgage payment. If I had known that a parking lot was going to go in there, I certainly would not have purchased it. And I'm going to have a heck of a time selling that house.... And to be honest with you I would consider selling that house now, because I won't be happy there. . .. Both my bedrooms border the house that they own, and I am going to end up with cars in the street banging their doors, and I am going to end up with cars in my back yard.... And it is tough to come here every sixteen months and put our faith in the hands of seven people who may not have to live in that situation every day, may not see what we deal with every day." In response to Councilman Claire's questions regarding why a parking lot in back would not alleviate the on street parking problems, Mr. Saisi said, "The Kingdom Hall disclosed to us during the meeting we had with the Zoning Administrator the quantity of people who show up during the week, and as I recall, from 60 to 100... Three people per car is what they quoted... I have a hard time believing that 29 cars in the back, and evidently those four spots in front of their church are now theirs... that is not going to support the number of people that show up for these meetings on a continuous basis. What is going to happen, in my opinion, is, if you can get everybody to go into that lot which I will argue they will not be able to do... people park on the street first. Let's say they are able to push that theory that you can get everyone to go into the lot first, what is going to happen with the overflow of cars, and I will guarantee you there will be an overflow. Those cars are going to park, four in front of the church, but there will be five, six, seven and eight cars and the rest of them are going to be up and down Iris Street... The people who will benefit will be the people on the periphery of where the parking problem is now. In response to Councilman Claire's questions regarding the major objections to the parking lot, and the possible benefit of restricted resident only parking permits, Mr. Saisi said, "If you are asking me if permit parking was instituted in my neighborhood would that alleviate one of my concerns?
