Redwood City General Plan <br /> 2013 Annu,9.A. - Page 6 <br /> Introduction <br /> On October 11, 2010, the City Council of Redwood City adopted a comprehensive <br /> revision to the General Plan. The updated General Plan established new policies, goals, <br /> and implementation programs for the long-term physical development of the community, <br /> constituting the blueprint for how the City will look, how development will occur, and <br /> providing a framework for the provision of City programs and services. It is a response <br /> to new State laws and addresses housing, urban form, circulation, atmosphere and <br /> climate, water resources, child care, seniors, health, historic resources, economic <br /> development, safety, and sustainability initiatives in the City. <br /> This 2013 General Plan Annual Report is intended to meet the reporting requirements <br /> of Government Code 65400(a) (2) and be consistent with the General Plan Annual <br /> Progress Report Guidance provided by the Governor's Office of Planning and Research <br /> (OPR). This report assesses progress from January 1 , 2013 through December 31, <br /> 2013. Additionally, the status of major projects to date is provided for informational <br /> purposes only, the updates for which will be provided in the next reporting cycle. <br /> Date of Presentation and Acceptance by Local Legislative <br /> Body <br /> This 2013 General Plan Annual Report is scheduled for review by the Planning <br /> Commission on March 4, 2014, and the City Council on March 24, 2014. <br /> Completed General Plan Amendments to Date <br /> 'Resolution 15060: On October 11, 2010, the City Council adopted a General <br /> Adoption of the New Plan Amendment to approve a comprehensive update to <br /> General Plan the Redwood City General Plan. <br /> Resolution 15088: Amend On January 24, 2011, the City Council adopted a General <br /> the General Plan Land Use Plan Amendment related to adoption of the Downtown <br /> Map and Mixed Use - Precise Plan (DTPP). The DTPP establishes a <br /> Downtown General Plan contemporary vision and sets forth the specific land use <br /> land use designation parameters, development standards, architectural <br /> definition and allowable guidelines, and urban design criteria in order to create a <br /> intensity. unique and vibrant downtown. The General Plan <br /> Amendment was required to be consistent with the <br /> boundaries of the Precise Plan, and accordingly revised <br /> the land use designation of certain properties generally <br /> located immediately outside and south of the DTPP area <br /> from "Mixed Use - Downtown" to "Residential - High <br /> Density" (6.37 acres) and "Residential - Medium Density" <br /> (0.49 acres) and "Hospital" (0.68 acres). The General Plan <br /> Mixed Use - Downtown land use designation was also <br /> revised to allow for an additional 114,000 square feet of <br /> nonresidential development capacity. <br /> 1i <br />
