Annual General Plan Progress Report for Calendar Year 2013 <br /> 2013 <br /> Program Number Program Description Status Date Completed 2013 Update <br /> Program BC-37 Child Care Facilities in Transit (See BC-34 re North Fair Oaks Community Plan child care policies) <br /> Stations and Large <br /> Development Projects <br /> Program BC-38 Preschool and Day Care I/O The City continues to support quality improvement efforts in programs and special projects, <br /> Educational Needs Support participate on the RCSD Ready Schools Team regarding preschool/kinder transition support.The <br /> City has secured free bilingual books on nutrition to preschools'families.Library programs include <br /> story hours,child/family events,summer reading/listening clubs,Traveling Storytime volunteer <br /> readers in child care and libraries.The new State Library"Early Learning with Families @ Your <br /> Library"program launched. <br /> Program BC-39 Comprehensive Child Care I/O Background report in process.Countywide group,lead by Peninsula Partnership Leadership <br /> Plan Council,is planning for Big Lift preschool expansion which will need to include facilities. <br /> Program BC-40 Child Care Subsidies I/O The City advocated for SMC Measure A funds to support preschool expansion(Big Lift),and <br /> Legislation Support $5M/yr is committed.Current efforts with facility experts and Assm.Mullin to improve California <br /> facilities funds for child care/preschool. <br /> Program BC-41 School District Child Care and I/O The City continues to support RCSD and community preschools and after-school care programs(as <br /> After-School Program needed)with resources,referrals,and collaborative projects such as Bridges to Success and Ready <br /> Support Schools.Components include cross-grade training and observations,and school site transition <br /> teams.Library provides homework and Teen centers, Kindergarteners library card event;authors <br /> nights in schools,and student/family literacy programs. <br /> Program BC-42 Public Art Program I/O 1.
