Several Art and Cultural Events take place Downtown throughout the year. 2. Downtown <br /> Events are being supported by sponsorships,donations,ticket sales,concessions and rentals. <br /> Concerts,movies,dancing,and single day events are being coordinated by the City and partner cCI) <br /> organizations. 3. The Civic Cultural Commission also contributes grant money for arts CD <br /> organizations to support events. 4.Free Shakespeare in the Park took place for three weekends CP <br /> at Sequoia High School. <br /> Program BC-44 Cultural Activities Event I/O The Courthouse Square is the main location for downtown events,and the City often uses other <br /> Locations streets in downtown. 2. Stafford Park and Marlin Park are host to summer concerts.3.Sequoia <br /> High School campus was used for Shakespeare in the Park. 4.The Main Library was used for <br /> children's reading events. <br /> Program BC-45 Cultural Events Marketing I/O Branding Downtown Redwood City as"The Entertainment Destination on the Peninsula" <br /> Strategy continues. Staff also works closely with the Spectrum on the Downtown Directory and with other <br /> local news outlets,as well as has a major online presence. Promoting businesses is a key <br /> component to the efforts. <br /> Program BC-46 The Redwood City—San I/O The PRCS with the support of local businesses held a number of public events such as"Classical <br /> Mateo County Chamber of Series on the Square"and the"Free Shakespeare in the Park"for all ages. The Silicon Valley Ball, <br /> Commerce Event Planning held in the downtown,is cosponsred by locaL businesses including the Chamber of Commerce <br /> Support organization. <br /> Program BC-47 Cultural Events and Art I/O PRCS produces many cultural events throughout the year with partner organizations.
