Annual General Plan Progress Report for Calendar Year 2013 <br /> 2013 <br /> Program Number Program Description Status Date Completed 2013 Update <br /> Program PS-37 County Airport Land Use Plan I/O As appropriate,the City takes projects to the Airport Land Use Commission for review and <br /> consideration. <br /> Program PS-38 Crime and Drug Prevention The Police Department has School Resource Officers assigned to Sequoia High School. The <br /> Programs Department continutes to maintain the expanded Truancy Abatement Program to target chronic <br /> truancy.Gang prevention and awareness classes are taught to all high school and middle school <br /> students.An expanded DARE program continues to be taught to 5th grade students.Uniformed <br /> officers participate in Police Activities. <br /> Program PS-39 Adequate Police and Fire I/O The Fire Department continues to provide"all-risk"emergency and non-emergency services to the <br /> Departments Service community from four fire stations within the main section of the City and one fire station located <br /> Requirements in Redwood Shores.The Fire Department provides community training,fire prevention,and other <br /> services as deemed necessary by the City Council.A new response model with a"Rescue Squad" <br /> responding out of Station 9 will begin in January 2014. <br /> • <br /> Program PS-40 Adequate Lighting I/O Staff continues to review all development applications to ensure adequate street and pedestrial <br /> lighting. <br /> Program PS-41 Stormwater and Creek I/O Improvements along Redwood Creek and its tributaries have been identified.
