Mayor Hartnett, candidate for the November 4 Council Election, described the efforts <br /> of several families in the Maddux Park neighborhood to raise money for children's play <br /> equipment in the park. He advised that the City's scheduled improvements are a couple of <br /> years out, and the neighbors want the new equipment before their children out grow the <br /> need for it. Comprehensive Street Tree Maintenance Contract for fiscal year 1997-98; (304) <br /> REPORT: Public Works Superintendent Mann, September 15, 1997 <br /> Public Works Superintendent Mann presented the staff report and described the <br /> estimates and bidding processes. <br /> In response to Council questions regarding the availability of these good rates for <br /> residents, Superintendent Mann advised that the yearly contract is designed to keep the <br /> contractor busy eight hours a day. Additionally, the City Attorney had advised that the <br /> City should not be a broker for these services due to liability issues.
