REPORT ON BID OPENING OF HEAVY EQUIPI�TT WEED ABATEMENT DISCING. The following is the reco�nendation of the Park Superintendent, Fire Chief and Cit� Engineer. Only one bid, from C. J. Simms, was received for one disking of vacant lots in Redwood City rrhich have not been disked bq City Park Departrnent equipment. Ft. unit � Debri$ removal 10.00 per cubic yard Since only one bid was received, and as the unit prices bid appear to be sxcessive, based upon bids reQeived in previous years for similar work in Redwood City, it is our recommendation that the bid of C. J. Si�ns be re�ected, and that the City Menager be authorized to either re-advertise for bids, or that he be authorized to either re-advertise for bids, or that he be authorized to contract for this service on the open market as done in 1953• Councilman Stout moved acceptance of recommendation, seconded by Councilrnan Royer. Councilman Britschgi asked that the matter be referred to Weed Abatement Committee for consideration. Councilman Granger stated that the Chairman of any Comrnittee should be notified before any action was taken. Motion carried. Councilman Granger moved City Manager Rolison be authorized to advertise � for bids, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. APPROVAL REVISED SEWER RENTAL SCHEDIILES FOR SCHOOLS. Councilman Britschgi moned, seconded � '� by Councilman Royer, that the City Attorney be directed to prepare the resolution. Motion carried. Councilman Granger stated that ther`e were more up now than there were before. He stated further that the City should go on record that no more political signs should be put up without permi.ssion of the Planning Commission.
