He further stQted that the Memorandum of <br /> A�reement for expenditure of Gas Tax Funds available for the 1954-1955 fiscal year ia <br /> now being prepared, and must be approved immediately in order to allocate supplementary <br /> funds for pro�ects now contemplated and in progress. Councilman Britschgi reported <br /> � <br /> that he had talked the matter over with Dick Dolwig in an attempt to get further �up- <br /> � <br /> port from the State, The matter �as placed on the agenda for the first meeting in <br /> July. Sewer Bonds. <br /> Ho�ever, should the Council desire to avoid the levying of a tax rate oP <br /> approaimatelg 4¢� this year for this pro�ect, it is possible that the balances � <br /> remaining in the 1951 and 19�.4 Sewage Treatmsnt and Sewer Bonds, totaling <br /> �23,899•00, migjcit be supplemsnted by suffieient funds from Sewer Rental to <br /> complete this p�o�ect. W� <br /> In the event this is done however, it should be understood that the City may <br /> be called upon in subsequent budgets to replace the funds taken from se�ver <br /> rental, should the sarris be needed to pay interest and redemption of 1951 <br /> Sewer Bonds. <br /> Councilman Jones asked the City Manager how soon the surplus in the Sewer Rental Fund <br /> would be needed. The City Manager replied that the surplus mig�t be adequate for <br /> redemption, but he did not kno�r how soon the surplus might be needed. Councilman <br /> Granger remarked that the money could always be taken from the Capital F'und and that <br /> the money from the Sewer Rental Fund could also be used. He wanted it understood that <br /> he preferred using money that is available rather than increase the ta.� rates. <br /> Councilman Royer moved that the Engineering Department be allowed to go ahead with plans <br /> and call for bids based on the City Manager' s r�port, seconded by �ouncilman Britschgi. <br /> ���„ <br /> Councilman Granger again stated that he wanted the ma.tter made clear that the tax rate <br /> . .� <br /> �►ould not be increased to cover any shortage which might arise if the present surplus <br /> money ia used to finan ce this pro�ect.
