FURTHER DISCUSSION ON V�. W. SPROUL�S SUGGESTiOId FOR REQUEST OF FEDERAL FUNDS. Councilman Jones reported that since the last Council meeting the Senste Finance Gommittee had appropriated �700,00� for the improvement of channels in Redwood City. In viev� of this fact and that the appropriation is still an open issue which has to be passed by Congress, it was the thinking of the Flood Control Committee that the matter be deferred until the present Port problem is desposed of. The Committes did not want to �eopardize the Portts � position and it was their recommendation that �r. Sproul be requested to again consult � �rith the Committee before an� action be taken by the Council, since the above mentioned problem arose after the Committee meeting with l�r. Sproul &Ir. Sproul stated that he did not agree with any of the statements made by Councilman Jones, and since he is carrying on a personal correspondence with Congressman Youn�er he still wanted to go on with his own pro�ect without waiting for any unnecessary delay. He stated that this vaas an important pro�ect and shouldn� t be delayed because of the Port situation. FURTHER DISCUSSION ON VARIANCE OF DRiVE{hIAY APPROACH ON EL CAMINO REAL NORTH OF BREVIfSTER AVENUE. It is the recommendation of the TrafFic Fact-Finding Comrnittee that this property be limited to two 25 foot driveways, which they feel v�rill allow adequate ingress and egress ''""°" and eliminate the hazard which would be created by a].lowin� additional driveways. r...,. Citg Engineer Jain reported � that a survey indieated that the only practical solution to the drainage problem would � be to construct a storm drain along the Pulgas Line between Pine Street and Spruce Street, the construction of a pumping station at Spruce Strest to lift this drainage into the existing open di�ch through private property at the end of Spruce Street, t he acquisition of additional easements along the Pulgas Line , and the removal �nd relocation of a cyclone fence along the westerly side of the Archibald property ease of the Pulgas Line. He stated f'urther that the cost of this storm drainage system would be excessive for the few lots on Pine Strest to bear unless a large area could be included in the
