Inasmuch as the item is included in the Capital Budget, Council- man Britschgi offered Resolution 1�40 and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. � 1�R. DOBBS REGARDING REMOVAL aF TREES FROPIT DRIVE-IN RESTAURANT ON EL CA�dINO REAL NORTH OF BREW3- TER AVENUE, 3TATE HIGHWAY DEPARTIr�NT APPROVAL. bir. Dobba appeared before the Couneil and stated that the trees in quastion were blocking the view to his restaurant and to the new sign which he had contracted for. He stated that the Division of Highwaya would offer no � ob�ection to the removal of the trees if the Council was in accord. It was the consensus �"' of opinion that the few remaining trees a.long the El Cs�nino Real should be allowed to stand and attention was called to the fact that several others had petitioned the Council to re- move trees in certain areas, and the Council had always gone on record as denying removal unless the trees interfered with driveway entrances. Mr. Dobbs stated that he would be . willing to replsce these trees with low shrubery or small trees that would not interfere with the visibility in eonnection with his establishment. Councilman Jones thought there was some merit in the request and expressed his thoughts that Council should make a study of the situation. After �'urther discussion, Councilman Granger moved denial, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried; Councilrnen Jones and Spillers voting N0.
