The Planning Comml.ssion recommended acceptance and approval of the final map of the Fleet�vood Tract and also recommended that provision for electroliers and fihe 6,000 squa.re feet recomtnended be veaived. All other grov3sions of Ordinance No. 631 are to be enfo rced. Councilman Spillers moved approval of this recommendation, seconded by Councilma.n Roger. Cit� Engineer Jain stated that ,,,.,,�, the Planning Commission follow the policy of allowing reduction of the 6,000 foot re- �� quirement when surrounded by areas of lesser siZe lots and r�here la.nd values did not �ustify. Final vote on the sub- ��.► �eet was withheld to allow the City Engineer to check on the matter. �..� COUNCILMAN STOUT offered a questionnaire which. he h ad developed with the idea of securing a LIST OF PROSPECTIVE CANDIDATES FOR BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS. It was his thou�t that these could be eventually submitted by service clubs and improvement associations. For the pre- sent� however, copies are to be furnished the members of th� City Council, City BRanager and the City Attorney. COIINCILMAN STOUT inquired about the present status of the mierophone situation and the construc- tion of a podium for THE USE OF THE CITIZENS IN �iE AIIDIENCE. The public address system is nox bein� surveyed by a local contractor, and the podium is under construction. A written report regardin� the public address system will be included in the Agenda of August 16th. � RESOLUTION OF 7NTENTION 1739 TO ANNEX MORRIS TERRITORY ON EATON AVENUE. Counci�.man Britschgi .�..r offered the resolution and moved adoption� seconded by Councilman Jones and carried on roll call. PETITION REQUESTING REPAIR OF CLINT�N STREET BRIDGE BETWEEN ROOSEVELT AND OAR AVENUE. A com- munication from City Engineer Jain indicating his opinion that it would be necessary to form an asseasment district as has been done in several instances where wooden bridges have been replaced by concrete culberts. The City legally would be able to appropriate the aum of �3,000•00 from bond funds. However, the property owners would be expected to pay the balance of the cos t of the culvert. A delegation of property o�rners in the aud- ience were asked to express their agreement to the selection of a cor�n.i.ttee which �rould in turn meet with representatives of the �ity. The City Clerk was directed to secure capies of Mr. Jain�s letter and mail them to the signers of the petition.
