The Commission recorrnn.ends that <br /> the boat house be erected on the easterly side of the Uacht Harbor building running toward <br /> the west side. It appears that the area has been staked off locating t he building on the <br /> west side. The Corrnnission has also recommended a ten year lease. City Engineer Jain <br /> stated his department had staked the site requested by Councilman Britschgi. Councilman <br /> Stout reported that a meeting had been held and the members of the Rec'reation Commission <br /> had been i�vited, but none could attend. The description furnished City Attorney Currie <br /> had been approved by the Port Commission. Councilman Stout moved that the matter be re- <br /> ferred back to the Council Yacht Harbor Committee, however, in the interest of savin� <br /> � <br /> time, it was decided decision should be made at once. Mr. Arthur �. Ayrault, Jr. , <br /> Captain of the Sta.nford Crew appeared before the Council and stated that some 900 yards '"'� <br /> of fill had been dumped at the west side, and it �rould be a costly operation to move this <br /> fill. He also requested permit to have a septic tank installe d. The site where the fill <br /> was dumped was the one approved by the Port Commission who were of' the opinion that the <br /> building, if erected on the east side would interfere with a contemplated spur track. <br /> Council.man Jones moved that a variance be granted to Rowing Crew granting permission to <br /> construct septic tank as requssted, sub�ect to the approval of the Health and Building <br /> Departments. Motion seconded by Councilman Stout. City Engineer Jain sugges�ed that <br /> connection to sewer, if and when available, should be a condition of the permit. Motion <br /> carried. Councilman Stout thoug�t the Recreation Commission should be consulted, however, <br /> inasmuch as the Port Commission had the power to decide the location, Councilman Jones <br /> moved approval of the area as staked out, seconded by Councilman Granger, the Recreation �* <br /> Commission to be so informed. Motion carried.
