Stevenson-Pacific protested the awarding on the grounds that there were <br /> no subcontractors listed in the A3ax bid and he claims that a roofing contractor does not <br /> have a license for sheet metal work, painting or general contract work. City Attorne�r <br /> Currie advises that there �as nothing in the °call for bids to indicate that the low bid <br /> was not acceptable. In his opinion the bid was proper. Councilman Britsch�i moved award- <br /> ing of bid to the A�ax Company inasmu.ch as the proper authorities indicate the bid is in <br /> order. He had contacted aeveral contractors �rho apparentl� were unwilling <br /> to bid on this type of work, the repairs being scattered widely through the area. Council- <br /> man Granger moved that the Couneil establish a definite policy to make every effort to <br /> correct the hazards in the business area at the City� s expense.
