King, Inc. , be permitted to make a cash c].eposit of � �500.04 to cover furnishing and planting of trees under Park Department supervision when conditions permit. In order to expedite the acceptanee of these improvemsnts he recommended that the City Council approve the final acceptance sub�ect to the conditions mentioned above� '� After discussion, Councilman Stout moved that the final map not be approved until the in- '� completed items have been corrected, City Clerk"to write �I. J. King informing them of Coun- cil action. Councilman Granger requested that there �e added to the motion the condition that subdivision be accepted based upon the report of the Cit� Engineer. Councilman Stout agreed to this and Councilman Britschgi seconded the motion which carried. Councilman Britschgi noted that the City Engineer had recently mailed a notice of �.7 items in the West�rood area which had not been completed. He stated that in fairness to the City Engineer it should be noted that the contractors have not cooperated in the past. COUNC�LMAN GRANGER REPORTED ON REPLY FROM T�iE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS REGARDING THE PLANTIATG OF REDYVOOD TREES WI�iIN THE ISLAND ON EL CAMIN� REAL at the South City limits. The Engineers were of the opinion that such trees require a larger area far growth than is allowable in this island. The�r recornmend further stud9 and endeavor to find loca,tions more favorable �,,.,, for planting. City Clerk was directed to reply to letter and state the Councilts apprecia- �,.v� tion for their cooperation. MRS. VERA ESKIN PROPOSED A CITY BEAUTTFICATION MASTER P�ING PLAN. This plan would allow plant- ing in parking aseas. The beautification of such areas would be considered along with park- ing lots. The C3.ty Clerk was directed to refer this communication to the City Engineer for further consideration. DIVISION OF HIGHWAY'S USE OF FAS TAX FUNDS TO PAY C ITY�S SxARE OF CORDILLERAS CREEK CULVERT. Com- munication received from the Division of Hi�ways authorizing the use of gas tax f�.inds to pay the City�s 25� of the cost of the Cordilleras Creek culvert to the City of San Carlos with the understanding that these monies are to be taken from the #30,000.00 already bud- geted for this project.
