This practice in the past has included street widths <br /> in figuring the .footage involved. Councilman Britschgi then moved that the Ci.ty Clerk <br /> write the Planning Commission and suggest hereafter that streets be eliminated and thus <br /> extand the radius by the width of the street. City Engineer Jain reported that contaur sur- <br /> vey had been made and descriptions had been started, however, due to the fact that the man <br /> working on this deal had resigned work had not been completed. Captain Faulstich will check. <br /> COUNCILMAN SPILLERS, IN REPLY TO CCIUNCILNIAN BRITSCHGI'S REQUEST FOR COST FIGURES ON TURFING OF <br /> HETCH-HETCHY EASEI�NT, suggested a check in all other areas such as Hawes Park, Taft School,. <br /> Goodwin School, etc. Councilman Spillers stated his opinion that the portion of the Hetch- <br /> Hetchy, if found to be auccessful, should be extended to additional Hetch-Hetchy areas. <br /> Mr. Ral�h Elliott addressed the Council to the effect that if the cost figures indicated <br /> that no additional men were provided it would result in a lessor cost to maintain the var- <br /> ious parks in the area. Mrs. Ver a Eskin called attention to the Chestnut Street and Fleis- <br /> xnan pla�grounds which �vere in a dilapidated condition there being no sod and very little <br /> play equipment. In her opinion these two playground areas should be maintained. Mr. Jain was congratulated <br /> for his activities in the League which resulted in favorable publicity of the City. <br /> COUNCILMAN JONES INQUIRED AS TO THE PRESENT STATUS OF THE CONSTRUC TION OF A FENCE AROUND THE <br /> CITY DUMP. City Engineer explained that work was progressing slowly with the pro�ect. <br /> MR.
