City Engineer Jain � advised that petition represents 71.32� of the assessable frontage half of Oak Avenue be- �, tween Hawes and Gordon Street. He recommends preparation of plans and specifications and � the establishment of an assessment district and that the City Auditor be authorized to ad- vance engineering cost from the General Fund to be reimbursed by the asseasment district. Walkway, �however, is solely for the pedeatrian protection. The Parker Company has indicated their willingnesa to abide by the requirements of the Uniform Building Code and in filing a waiver claim against the City for damages. Councilman Granger moved approval sub3ect to Building Department requirements� and further sub�ect to the Parker Company furnishing the necessary bonds. COIINCILMAN GRANGER DISCUSSED THE PROPOSED RESURFACING OF BEECH STREET from Pennsylvania and Stambaugh St�eets. Several property owners havs approached him with the idea of having the street resurfaced on a cash basis in a.n effort to reduce cost.
