City Engineer Jain � <br /> advised that petition represents 71.32� of the assessable frontage half of Oak Avenue be- �, <br /> tween Hawes and Gordon Street. He recommends preparation of plans and specifications and <br /> � the establishment of an assessment district and that the City Auditor be authorized to ad- <br /> vance engineering cost from the General Fund to be reimbursed by the asseasment district. <br /> Councilman Britschgi moved approval, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> PR�GRES5 ESTINlATE N0. 3 AND FINAL, HAAS COMPANY, SEWER PROJECT, �1�.,062.60. City Engineer reco�nended acceptance of the <br /> pro�ect sub�ect to the following conditions: <br /> 1. Two year guarantee of workmanship and materials. <br /> 2. Posting of a two-year maintenance bond in the amount of �3��87.88 to guarantee the <br /> repair, reeonstruction and resur�'acing of any part of the pipe trench, backfill� <br /> and/or surfacing which may fail within two {2) years from date of acceptanca of <br /> the p�►v�ect. PARKER REQUEST PER�IT TO CON3TRUCT WALKWAY AROU1dD SITE OF HALL OF JUSTICE BUILDING DUR- <br /> ING CONSTRUCTION. �It developes that this walkway will be constructed into the street <br /> which will eliminate parking around the entire block. Walkway, �however, is solely for <br /> the pedeatrian protection. The Parker Company has indicated their willingnesa to abide <br /> by the requirements of the Uniform Building Code and in filing a waiver claim against <br /> the City for damages. Mr. Fred W. � <br /> Links, Assistant Director, indicates that an additional �500.00 will be requested in the ��, <br /> budget neat year. <br /> COIINCILMAN GRANGER DISCUSSED THE PROPOSED RESURFACING OF BEECH STREET from Pennsylvania and <br /> Stambaugh St�eets. Several property owners havs approached him with the idea of having <br /> the street resurfaced on a cash basis in a.n effort to reduce cost. Matter referred to <br /> Cit� Engineer Jain for a report at the November lst meeting. <br />
