City Attorney atated that con- <br /> tract had been entered into with workers to raze the building and work has already started. <br /> Councilma.n Jones moved that hearing be continued to December bth, seconded by Councilman <br /> Royer and carried. "°"� <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON RE: HEALTH DEPARTMENT REQUEST FOR FOOD SANITATION ORDINANCE. Model ordi- "'"'� <br /> , nance had been presented by the County Health Department in August 1953 proposin� a uni- <br /> form food and sanitation ordinance which it was decided would conflict with our own ordi- <br /> nance #401, The Council at that time thou�.t tha.t th.e proposed ordinance would be an ad- � <br /> ditional burden on food establishments and Was not necessary. City Attorney advised that � <br /> the present ordinance could be amended to cover carnivals and dircuses, etc. Councilman <br /> Granger moved th at the proper department heads review the present ordinance and bring in <br /> any recommended changes thought necessary. Motion seconded by Councilman Stout and <br /> carried. <br /> CITY MAN�GER ROLISON REPORT ON VALOTA ROAD. The City Manager presented a report covering an <br /> extensive study of the situation by himself and the City Engineer. This report called <br /> attention to a total cost of the pro3eet for a 60 foot street at �142,200.00, �96,000.00 <br /> of which would be paid bg the property owners. The report called attention to several <br /> difficulties to be overcome and it was decided to devote a study meeting to go into this <br /> matter more fully. Councilman Britschgi so moved, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> Meeting was called for Tuesday November 9th. Meeting originally set for study of the pro- <br /> � <br /> posed Port Bond issue has been postponed to Tuesday November 16th. <br /> �..� <br /> MRS. F. HOGAN RE: WATER CONNECTION, EMERALD LAKE PROPERTY. Mrs. Hogan had been informed of the <br /> Council policy allowing no new water connections in the Emerald Lake area. She stated, <br /> however, that a well had failed and her present residence was without water. Mrs. Hogan <br /> stated that she had been forced to move to the south and now desired to sell the home, <br /> but �ras unable to do so unless and until w ater connection is granted. Councilman Britschgi <br /> moved denial, seconded by Councilman Jones. Under the question, Vffater Superintendent Win- <br /> ter stated that two similar cases h ad been granted in the area and that there were at pre- <br /> sent t�.ree or four consumers on the line which had been installed by the property owners. <br /> If Mrs. �ogan is granted a permit it will be necessary for her to buy into the line or <br /> install a line of her own to connect to the water main. Councilman F3ritschgi withdremr <br /> his original motion and Councilman Royer moved the watex� connection be granted because of a <br /> hardship case. Motion seconded by Councilman Stout. Councilman Granger stated he would � <br /> vote in favor of' the motion providing Mrs. Hogan would agree in writing that water would �-��" <br /> be used for household use only and that the people who originally paid for the line gave <br /> evidence that Mrs. Hogan would be allowed a tie-in. These conditions were added to the <br /> original motion which was carried on roll call. Councilman Britschgi and Councilman Jones � <br /> voting N0. � � <br /> APPLICATION FOR WATER CONNECTION AT LOT 21, HIGHLANDS OF EMERALI3 LAKE was received from Mrs. <br /> iYii.ltonette Bush. 9fiater Superintendent Winter had informed Mrs. Bush of the inadequate <br /> water mains in the area, also that there were no water lines within a 500 foot radius <br /> of the property in question. It being evident that property in question was unimproved, <br /> Councilman Royer moved deni�,l, seconded by Councilrnan Stout. Motion carried. <br />
