204 <br /> CQUNCIL�AA JONES DISCUSSED 'Il3E PARKING LOT ADJACENT TO TAE CHAMBER OF COMMERCF� BUILDING askin� that <br /> consideration be given to setting apart a section for City Hall employees, the balance of <br /> the lot to be metered. Nfayor Herkner stated that a pla�n had besn worked out some months ago <br /> which could be re-activated and re-considered. Councilma.n Britschgi stated his thought that <br /> this lot should be kept free for shoppers but steps should be taken to keep out all day <br /> sleepers. Matter �ill be discussed at the next study meeting. „� <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON StJBMIZTED A LIST OF WEED ABATEMENT ASSESSMENTS V9HICH HAD BEEN INCORRECTLY „� <br /> BILLED. The Weed Abatement investi�ating committee recommended cancellation of these items <br /> which totaled �39.19. Councilman Spillers moved cancell ation be allowed, seconded by <br /> Councilman Britschgi and carried. <br /> � <br /> CITY MANAGER ROLISON REQUES�'ED PER�ISSION TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TWO DISCINGS INSTEAD OF ONE <br /> � <br /> as was contracted for last year. �e contractor would disc larger areas only and the City <br /> equipment would take care of smaller lots. The spraying would be taken care of urider the <br /> p�esent contract �rhich extends into the present �ear. City Engineer Jain recorr�rnends run- <br /> ning a pilot te�t �o spray a small seetion of the creek. If this proves advantageou$ fur- <br /> ther spraying of' the creeks �rould be carried out later on. Councilman Britschgi stated that <br /> the corr�nittee had discussed thi� matter and also the matter of double discing as referred <br /> to above. In the opinion of the committee a much more satisfactory �ob will be accomplished. <br /> It was the thought of the committee that the creek spraying should be paid for by the City. <br /> It was also understood that the cost of double discing �rould result in a higher unit cost. <br /> Councilman Spillers moves approval of the committee recommendation, seconded hy Councilman <br /> Royer and carriad. <br /> CITY 11dANAGER ROLTSOPI SUBMITTED INFORMATION REGARDING THE NEGOTIATIONS FOR '1'HE EMPLOYN�TT �F ""�' <br /> CHARLES E. RANDLETT, C NIL ENGINEER TO PREPARE PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR PROPOSED PARK- �+' <br /> ING LOT VII AT THE REAR OF THE CITY HALL, for the following standard engineering fee. <br /> 6� of the first �10�000.00 of the construction cost <br /> �� of the next � 0,000.00 of the construction cost <br /> � of the next �50,000.00 of the eonstruction cost <br /> of all over �100,000.00 of the construction cost <br /> In addition, Mr. Randlett agrees to perform other related services such as the preparation <br /> of legal descriptions for the making of appraisals for a fee not to e�ceed $550.00, to be <br /> computed on an hourlp basis at the followin� rates: <br /> Draftir�g 5.00 per hour <br /> Computing 6.00 per hour <br /> Legal Descriptions, etc. 7.50 per hour <br /> Coiancilman Britschgi was of the opinion th at this matter should be held up until petitions <br /> which are now, or soon to be circulated .or brought in. He suggested holding the matter up <br /> �� <br /> for t�xo weeks or so in order that �he progress of the petition might be watched. After fur- <br /> ther discussion Councilm.an Britschgi moved the matter be placed on the agenda forthe meeting �� � <br /> of December 13th, seconded by Councilman Spillcers. City Engineer Jain stated th�t three <br /> _ or four months would be required to get out the plans and specifications and in his opinion <br /> contract should be let by the first of Niarch. He called attention to the fact that he was "�"" <br /> ordered about three weeks ago to produce a tentative plan. Mr. Jain asked that the matter �� <br /> be moved up to save time. Councilman Britschgi axrx�nded his motion to read Agenda December <br /> 6th. Motion carried. <br /> CITY ENGINEER JAIN REPORTED 'I'fiAT THE CANYON ROAD PETITIOPT HAD BEEN RE-CIRCULATED AND SEVERAL <br /> MORE SIGNATURES SECURED, reporting a total of 67.3,� of the entire area. 77.7� of the Can- <br /> yon Road people have signed and no si�natures :�ave been secured on IIpland Street, however, <br /> ,., a_,a.K:.�.b.�k���>... _ _ _ —, <br />
