Granger, Paul Jones, William H. <br /> � � <br /> Royer, Hiram S. Stout and Maydr Sidney D. Herkner. Councilmen Carl A. Britachgi and ' <br /> Robert V. Spillers were noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, `� <br /> City Clerk R. S. °Dodge, City Attorney C. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Police <br /> Chief Stanley �Iood, Fire �hief J. L. Lodi, Water Superintendent H. L. �4linter, Building <br /> Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Tax Collector Paul Perrin, Administratine Assistant Orrin @�end- ""'� <br /> ling, and Fire Marshal George Asvos. ..�i► <br /> N!lINUTES OF Tf� REGIILAR 1V�ETING of Decerriber bth and the Ad�ourned Meeting od December 13th were <br /> approved as mailed by m�tion of Couneilman Jones, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br /> PERSONAL APPEARANCE - LYNN CRAPUCHEZTI, REQUEST �fiATER CONNECTION' EMERALD LAKE PARK #2. Mr. Crap- <br /> uchetti, 769 Lakeview Wa�r, stated he had applied for water service in September of 1953 <br /> at which time he was advised of a Council policy of no new connections in the Emerald Lake <br /> area. He now stated that due to the illness of his wife he desires to move from his pre- <br /> sent residence and construct a new home on his lots in Emerald Lake Park #2. �ifater Super- <br /> intendent Winter advises that no service had ever been installed on those lots. After ex- <br /> plaining the City�s policy of denying eonnections except where the City had approved serv- <br /> ice and in the cases where houses were under construetion, Councilman Jones moved permit <br /> be denied, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br /> � <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS - CORABELLE HERMAN APPLICATIOAT REZONE LOT 2 BLOCK 17, REDWOOD HIGHLANDS FROM <br /> �r <br /> R-1 to R-3 (Elwood and Broadway). The Planning Comanission recommended denial inasmuch <br /> as there was considerable opposition to such rezoning and also bscause the Commission felt <br /> that it was not a public necessity and not 3n the best interest of the �velfare of the area. <br /> The Public Hearing was announced b� Mayor Herkner and there being no protests, written or <br /> oral, Councilman Granger moved Public Hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Stout and <br /> carried. Councilman Jones then moved approval of the Planning Commission recommendation <br /> to den� request seconded by Councilman Stout and carried• <br /> PLANNING COMNtISSION INITIATIVE TO REZONE BLOCK BOUNDED BY HEMLOCK, EL CAMINO REAL, CENTER AND <br /> LINDEN FROA� R-1} to C-1-Ii-F. Affidavit of Publication was o�dered filed. Public Hearing <br /> was announced and there being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Stout �oved close <br /> of the Public Hearing, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. Councilman Stout stated <br /> � <br /> that he could see no justification f'or the rezoning as recommended by the Planning Com- <br /> mission and moved to deny same, secondsd by Councilman Jones and carried unanimously on `�" <br /> roll call. Councilmen Britschgi and Spillers noted absent. <br /> �iEED ABATEMENT INVESTIGATING COI�NIITTEE REPORT.
