INSTALLATION OF STOP SIGNS ON BREWSTER AVENUE at Opal and Hillview Avenues. Council-� �� :� <br /> man Royer moved that comr,��unication be answered , writer to be informed that the present <br /> situation is temporary and not a permanent installation. <br /> MAYOR GRANGER STATED THAT LOCAL SERVICE CLUBS were endeavoring to find a location upon which <br /> a sign could be maintained carrying emblems of all service clubs. He called attention <br /> to the triangle of property at Chestnut Street and E1 Camino Real known as "all of <br /> � <br /> Block 8� Hancock Addition" which is owned by the State of California. Councilman Herkner <br /> �.,M <br /> moved that the matter be referred to the City Manager who will contact the State in an <br /> effort to secure permission to erect sign on this site. <br /> COUNCILMAN BRITSCHGI STATID that he had heard complaints of the speed of cars on Fernside <br /> '" " Street and requested that the Traffic Fact Finding Con�mittee make a study of the <br /> � .> situation. <br /> COUNCILI�IAN SPILLERS FEQUE�TED the Traffic Fact Finding Committee make further study of the <br /> Whipple and E1 Camino Real traffic signals , it being apparent that considerable confusion <br /> is being experienced at this location. <br /> COUNCILMAN RCYER DISCUSSED the problem of Hopkins Avenue being used as an entrance to Bayshore <br /> Freeway rather than Whipple Avenue� the latter being 60 feet in width whereas Hopkins <br /> Avenue is 80 feet wide. He requested this matter be referred te the Planning Commission <br /> for their advice. <br /> MAYOR GRANGER ASKED the present status of installations of water main to the S . H. Frank <br /> Tannery. City Manager Rolison advised that this matter was in with future projects <br /> coming up. This was placed on the agenda of March lst. <br /> ,,,..�,.�, <br /> COUNCILMA.N HERKNER WAS OF THE OPINION that the timing of si�nals at Whipple Avenue and E1 <br /> ,�;_. <br /> Camino Real be checked by the Traffic Fact Finding Committee calling attention to the <br /> operation of the signal while trains were crossing Whipple Avenue intersection. <br /> COUNCILPJ�AN ROYER I�OVED ADJOURNP�IENT, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. Councilman Royer requested that <br /> minutes be corrected to show that the report on the proposed exchange of Hawes Park <br /> property be made to the Council by March lst. Motion carried. <br /> REAL ESTATE COP�MITTEE'S REPORT. Councilman Herkner reported on the request of Elementary <br /> School District to be given the opportunity to purchase Lots � and 22� Block 5� <br />
