i0 Frank Benevento: Bidder to pay City 87.50 per month Dennis Joly: Bidder to pay City 100.00 per month Matthew Pollard: Bidder to pay City 77.00 per month Albert J. Orsini; City to pay bidder �50.00 per month Alternate Bid: Fill and cover method, consisting of no burning, the use of a bulldozer to push and compact debris, and later add a covering to fill the compacted debris, as now being operated in the City of San �ateo - City to pay bidder �1,250 per month with salvaging privileges. City Engineer recommended, with the approval of the City Manager Rolison, that the � contract be awarded to Mr. Frank Benevento for a period of one year with the privilege ' � of additional extensions if mutually satisfactory to both City and Contractor. The reason for this recommendation is that Mr. Benevento has been operating the dump under subcontract from Mr. Joly for at least the past year and has given satisfactory service. City Engineer further stated that in his opinion Mr. Jolyts operation has failed to � comply with the condition of t he contract and his recommendation apnears to be justified. ` �' R?r. Dennis Joly, who submitted the �100 per month bid, addressed the Council in support of his f ather, Mr. Romeo Joly, and requested t hat t he Council give further consideration to his bid. Councilman Spillers then �withdrew his motion with the consent of the second and Councilman Britschgi then moved that the matter be turned over to the spec- ial cornmittee, Councilman Herkner chairman, to meet with the City Attorney, City Manager, Mr. Joly and Mr. Benevento to discuss the matter further and to ma_ke a recommendation to the Council.
