Councilman Britschgi moved approval of the recommendation, seconded by Coun- <br /> cilman Spillers and carried. <br /> � <br /> COUi�TTY HEALTH DEPARTIN.ENT�S COMMUATICATION REGARDITTG INSPECTIODT OF El�JIERALD LAKE AREA. County <br /> Health Department inspection report covering the Emerald Lake area indicated that of <br /> � <br /> 217 homes inspected a total of 5�. abatement notices have been issued for faulty disposal <br /> installations, 9 of the deficiencies have been corrected, 17 are in the process of <br /> correction and 28 are still within 30 day abatement period. <br /> � <br /> Councilman Britschgi then brought up for discussion the matter of providing sewer outlets <br /> �"" to the area requesting annexation. City Engineer Jain reported on the many difficulties <br /> to be encountered and the fact that considerable money would be required. <br /> Af ter further discussion r egarding possibility of assessment district in some area and <br /> what portion the City should finance, Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Engineer <br /> start preliminary surveys at once, seconded by Councilman Jones. Councilman Herkner <br /> requested that the motion include a study meetin�, Mr. Jain to present maps in question. <br /> Councilman Britschgi agreed to this inclusion as well as the second. Councilman <br /> Britschgi restated t he motion as follows: City Engineer prepare the necessary maps, <br /> services, tentative plans and specifications covering trunk lines, study meetin$ to be <br /> held to discuss finances--City Engineer, City Manager, and City Attorney to attend. The <br /> plans and specifications would be undertaken after the study meeting. P�Iotion carried. <br /> � Friday, March 5th at 4:00 P. M. in the City Man�.ger� s office was the time set for the <br /> �, aforementioned meeting. <br /> Communication from SENATOR HARRY L. PARKMAN PROMISING AID in securing the necessary legis- <br /> lation covering straightening portion of th.e channel of Redwood Creek was read and ordered <br /> filed. Councilman Jones moved that the letter be acknowledged also that a letter be <br /> written to Assemblyman Dowlig expressing appreciation of the Council for his efforts <br /> resulting in havin� the forementioned matter on the agenda of the next session of' the <br /> Le�islatu.re, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> LETTER RECEIVE� FROM THE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING CHANGE OF BRIDGE from Bradford Street <br /> to ?�7arshall Street. The Plannin� Commiss�on is in the process of setting plan lines for <br /> �4arshall Street and is of tk�.e opinion that the brid�e ahould be at Marshall Street for <br /> better circulation of traffic. Councilman Royer moved that the Plannin� Commission be <br /> advised that the Council is in full accord �ith their recommendation, seconded by Coun- <br /> � <br /> cilwoman Tinney and carried. <br /> iirrr <br /> C�UNCILi�2AN BRITSCHGI B�?OUGHT UP THE RECENT DECISION OF THE COUNCIL in requirin$ full street <br /> improvements in connection with Simon Peters ' subdivision. Councilman Britschgi was <br /> inquiring as to the policy covering areas located in the Emerald Lake District and asking <br /> � where the line would be drawn as to sidewalks , curbs, gutters , etc. . It developed that <br /> �"' the Peters property was immediately adjoining area developed by the Murphy Construction <br /> Company in which full improvements were required and carried out. Council has decided <br /> to consider each case on its own merits. <br /> Ct�UNCILMAN SPILLERS IN�UIRED AS TO THE PRESENT STATUS OF THE ABATEMENT of buildings on Main <br /> Street originally housing a bar and picture framing business. Fire Chief Lodi reported <br /> that the last tenant moved from th.e building on February 28th. Councilman Spillers <br /> moved that the proper authorities proceed with the abatement of the building, seconded by <br />
