After further discussion as to the merits to the foregoing, it was decided <br /> � <br /> that the entire Council would meet Thursda;� evening, I14arch llth, in the City ft7anager' s <br /> Il��r <br /> office at 8;00 P. 1'!I. , to work out the detai]_s of the campaign. <br /> COU��CILNAiV HERKTtER CALLED ATTERITIOTT T�a A�d OPE?�T RAILING on the bridge at Alameda de las Pul�as <br /> betv�reen Kensington Road and Vdashington Avenue. It represented a hazard to the children <br /> � in the area. P.�Zr. James Gleeson, Highlands CommunitST Club, stated that the bridge rail- <br /> � ing had been £enced Por some months but shield had been removed by the people wha <br /> ari�inally installed the same because they had been informed they would be held liable <br /> in case of accident. ?1�Tr. Gleeson requested the Council to appropriate funds to replace <br /> t�e snields also to fence all creeks in the area. Councilman Royer called attention <br /> to three more creeks in this area crossing Massachusetts Avenue a.nd Alameda de las pul�as, <br /> which would require fencing. Councilman Britschgi sug�ested that hereafter subdividers <br /> be required to construct proper safe�uards at creek crossings as a condition to <br /> acceptance of the subdivision. <br /> COU�TCILtv1ATd BRITSCHGI DISCUSSED THE �-�ETCH-'rIETCHY R1GHT-of-WAY calling attention to the fact <br /> that damaged sidewalks had not been repaired as yet. The San Francisco ?!)ater Department <br /> had done some work of grading and had done a satisfactory job had only Jr�.ded one section. <br /> ,�� ., Councilman Britschgi suggested that the City Manager contact the �rdater Company to <br /> �, <br /> determine whether or not they were intending to disk the right-of-way to dispose of the <br /> weeds , otherwise, the City would do the v�ork in the usual manner. Councilman Royer <br /> commented on the good work done by the San Francisco V!Jater Department but insisted that <br /> the rest of' t he area should be cleaned up. �ie suggested that the possibility ,of a <br /> joint tNater Department--City project whereby the V�i'ater Department miaht contribute <br /> toward the expenseg of the project if they had no equipment available. Councilman <br /> Britschgi then moved that the matter be placed on the agenda of NTarch 15th, seconded <br /> by Councilman Royer and carried. Councilman Spillers volunteered to meet with the City <br /> Il�anager and would contact V�fater Superintendent Davis and request the gradin� work be <br /> continued. <br /> COUNCILU�FOMAN TINNEY STATED that she had been requested to secure information regarding branch <br /> libraries in other Citiss . This report has been prepared and copies have been sub- <br /> � <br /> mitted to the Council so that the matter may be studied and included in the 1954-55 <br /> �rr <br /> Budget. She su�gested t he possibility of discussion at the Thursday, 1��Tarcn llth, <br /> study meeting. <br /> MAYOR C=RAi�GER SUGGES'I'ED THAT Er1GINEER PAUL ADA1tiiS�N and CITY ENCTINEER J?�IN be present at the <br /> �" Thursday evening meeting to assist in developing information regarding the flood con- <br /> � trol program.
