The Traffic Fact Finding Committee favored division <br /> of El Camino Real by physical barri.er thraughout its entire length within the City <br /> Lirr�ita and sugges ted t hat a communication be directed to the Divis ion of High.ways re- <br /> questing their approval and assistance in this matter. Mayor Gran�er reported on a <br /> meeting he had attended in San Francisco at which time proposed signals at Dumbarton � <br /> and Oakwood Boulevards had been discussed. The State Division of Hi�hways , however, � <br /> favored a si�nal at Fifth Avenue working in conjunction with signals at Five Points <br /> would probably result in better control of traffic in the Dumbarton-Oakwood area. It <br /> was svggested that the subject of barriers be held up to allow further investigation �, <br /> of the above matter. The Traffic Committee con- <br /> ducted a re-study and determined that the buildin� activities at both ends of Fernside <br /> Street had created a temnorary traf'fic condition which prompted their recommendation <br /> that stop signs be relocated to stop traffic on Fernside Street at Carson Street and <br /> on Fernside Street at Roosevelt Avenue . Councilman Spillers moved approval, seconded <br /> � <br /> by Councilman Jones and carried. <br /> P.C .A. RE�LTEST PERR�ISSION TO SELL PROGRANS ON STREETS. Councilman Herkner moved permission � � <br /> be granted, seconded by Councilman Spil._lers and carried. City Manager was d.irected to gr�nt the request if his investi�ation <br /> proved satisfactory. <br /> COLNC ILiI'iAN ROY��R CALLED ATTENTION TO THE NEWS ITEi� �'�'HEREII�T JOHNSON AND JOHNSON were applying <br /> for admission to P,Zenlo �`ire District. He suggested that the committee be appointed to <br /> contact Johnson and Johnson in an effort to interest them in possible annexation to <br /> the City. Mayor Granger appointed Councilman Royer chairman of the comr�ittee, he to <br /> pick other members to assist him. � �" <br /> COUNCILMAN ROYER CQ11�i�REI�?TED ON REDWOC�D CITY CONTRACTORS being called upon to purchase licenses � <br /> in otrer eities whereas it appeared out of town contractors were operating in this City <br /> withovt purchas�_ng licenses. It developed tnat the City of San Carlos had assigned one <br /> police officer who did nothin�, other than pa�rol the City checking on all types of con- ,�,,, <br /> tractors. While it was understood that member of City Collectors department was de- <br /> �� <br /> voting part time to searching for contraetors without licenses, Coi,ncilman Royer moved <br /> that the City P.Zana�er check into the matter and bring back a report, to the Council, <br /> seconded by Councilm�.n Spillers and carried. <br /> C�TNCILti.AN BRITSCHGI SUGGESTED tnat in order to arrive at a better understanding o#' proper <br /> expansion of business in residential areas that the Council meet with the Planning <br /> Commission in an effort to establish some type of policy controllin� the expansion <br />
