Sub-section B of Section 1602 of the 1946 Uniform Building Code j '� <br /> states that any buildin$ in Fire Zone 1 less th an twenty (20�00" ) feet from property <br /> line shall be of not less than four hour fire resistive construction. Table �3-A on <br /> pa�e 232 of the �946 Uniform Buildin� Code �ives types and thicknesses of material <br /> for a four hour fire wall con�truction. <br /> 2. Building is approximately 45 feet by 66 feet built of wood frame covered with <br /> corru�ated iron with a tar paper roof. <br /> � 3. Roof covering is not fire retardant. Code calls for a fire retardant roof in <br /> Fire Zones. <br /> �"' 4. Buildin� is sub-standard and due to the above mentioned conditions and violations <br /> becomes an unsafe buildin�. <br /> 5. Building is in No. 1 Fire District and cannot be made to conform to a building in <br /> said Fire Zone. <br /> �. It is the recommendation of this department that the building be demolished and the <br /> lot cleared." <br /> � The following is the report and recommendation oP t he Fire Marshal Richard Drivon: <br /> "The building in question is owned by Lorrain Michel, et.al. , 1.808 Pacific Avenue, <br /> San Francisco 23, California an.d is situated on Lot 3, Block 5, Har_cock Addition. <br /> The building is located at 1�.16 Main Street. <br /> The buildin� is a; One story wood frame - metal clad <br /> stucco front <br /> tar paper roof <br /> concrete and wood floor <br /> tongue and groove - ceilin� and walls. <br /> The buildin� is substandard, dilapidated and is located on the north property line <br /> with no set-back from adjoining property line. Due to its dilapidated condition, <br /> type of construction and its location on the property, it constitutes a fire <br /> hazard. <br /> This department recommends the elimination of this hazard." <br /> Councilm.an Spillers moved the usual procedure of posting and mailing be followed irmned- <br /> iate7.y, seconded by Councilman Jones and that the matter be continued to the April 5th <br /> � <br /> meeting. Councilman Britschgi suggested that roll call be taken which suggestion was <br /> � <br /> adopted and resulted in an unanimous t'aye" vote. <br /> ABATEN,�+'NT INSPECTION REPORT OT1 DV�FELLINCr IN REAR OF ZI�.3 HAZEL STREET� M. VEGA, QVb'NER. The <br /> Building Inspector made the followin�; report: <br /> "l. Buildin� is on property line. <br /> 2. Floors are on groun�; no space underneath. <br /> �. VerST narrow stairs leading to sleeping quarters. <br /> . Plumbing is in very bad condition. <br /> �. Building has no bathroom. <br /> . The tenants have moved from <br /> the building and in order to regain jurisdiction City Attorney recommended re-posting <br /> � <br /> of t he building and the "DTo One Enter'� sign be displayed. Councilman Royer so moved, <br /> seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br /> RESOLUTION CATT,ING ANNEXATION ELECTION FOR HIrTHLANDS TERRITORY.
