1
City Engineer Jain recommended that the bid of Tone Motor Company for the Ford 195
model F-700 at 3,732.07 each be accepted which recommendation was concurred in by
the City Manager. Councilman Spillers moved acceptance of the City Engineers recom-
mendation, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney.
Ir. . K. Davies appeared in protest it being his contention that his product, while
not meeting the minimu.m specifications , was capable of doing the work required and

could be purchased at a price less than the cost of t he Ford trucks. In the discussion
.r
that f'ollowed it was determined that minimum specifications referred to were selected
after conferrin with all local dealers in the City, in view of which it appeared that
the City Council could do nothing else but accept the bid of Towne Motor whose bid as

the lowest submitted for equipment meeting the minimum specifications. Motion carried.
Councilman Herkner was of the opinion that Auto dealers should get together with the `°""'
City Manager to work out specifications which would not preclude any certain truck.
Councilman Herkner then moved accordingly. Councilman Herkner s motion died for lack
of a second.
MR. Mr. Taylor stated that 8"
water and sewer lines had been brought to within {.00 feet of t he property, and in order
that property might be praperly developed he desired tre annexation be accomplished
as soon as possible . Then followed discussion as to the zonin and it was determined
that property would be classified as "U" District tirhich vJO uld require obtaining Use
Permits, however, in order to expidite the matter it was thouh.t that future zoning
coulu be considered during the annexation proceedings. Councilman Spillers than moved
tnat the matter be referred once more to the Planning Commission which were to meet the
follovring evenin, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. Nr. Taylor stated he
would attend the Plannin Comm.ission meeting.
REPORT ON -BID OPENING, RECOIVIENDATIQI? OF CITY DUi?F COT?TRACT. The Committeets decision was
due partly to the fact that Mr. Benevento is the owner of equipment in operation at
the dumps . Councilman Royer than moved that the City M^nager be authorized to enter
,
into an agreement subject to satisfactory bond and insurance, seconded by Councilman
;„i
Jones and carried.
ABATEIvTENT HEARING ON PAOLINO PROPERTY AT 422 MAPLE STREET.
