A Council Member thanked staff, the developer and the appellant and stated that in this <br /> situation people communicated effectively and are presenting something better. <br /> Mr. Jeff Car, the appellant, spoke about the appeal and stated that he was pleased that <br /> he could meet with Mr. Paul Powers and do a complete renovation in the fa�ade of the <br /> building. He stated that he and his partners are now in complete agreement with the <br /> project. He asked the City to take a break after this project to figure out how to deal <br /> with traffic and parking problems and see where the City is going in the future. <br /> Mr. Paul Powers, the developer, spoke about how grateful he and the applicant were <br /> that they could work out a solution with the appellants. He thanked the appellants and <br /> asked the City Council to support the modifications to the project. <br /> Mayor Aguirre opened the Public Hearing at 8:45 p.m. <br /> Public Comment <br /> Frank Benney spoke in support of the project as modified. He stated that having well- <br /> designed projects such as this, that have General Plan conformity, provides veracity to <br /> urban development. <br /> MS SeybertJlra to close the Public Hearing. Motion carried unanimously by voice <br /> vote. <br /> A Council Member asked if it is true that this project has never been out of <br /> conformance. Mr. Lyon replied that is correct. <br /> Recommendation: <br /> 1. Hold a public hearing on the Appeal. <br /> 2. Adopt a Resolution denying the appeal and modifying the Planning <br /> Commission decision of September 3, 2013, based on the revised project <br /> materials dated November 8, 2013, and upon considering the Initial Study <br /> Checklist and approving the Tentative Map, Condominium Permit, Planned <br /> Development Permit and Downtown Planned Community (PC) Permit for the <br /> revised 525 Middlefield Road Project. <br /> RESOLUTION N0.15305 DENYING THE APPEAL BY 605 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD <br /> LLC, AND MODIFYING THE SEPTEMBER 3, 2013 PLANNING COMMISSION <br /> ACTIONS, TO APPROVE THE TENTATIVE MAP, CONDOMINIUM PERMIT, <br /> PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT AND PLANNED COMMUNITY PERMIT, THE <br /> 525 MIDDLEFIELD ROAD PROJECT AS REVISED ON NOVEMBER 8, 2013, ALL <br /> PURSUANT TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY'S DOWNTOWN PRECISE PLAN <br /> AND SUBDIVISION ORDINANCE <br /> M/S Seybert/Bain to accept the staff recommendation.
