<br /> '-' In response to City Attorney Schricker's questions, Mr. Bailey said there were
<br /> 45 residents in the Laurel Glen Convalescent Home on a 24-hour basis, and it
<br /> serves as their residence. Mr. Bailey said four of the bedrooms were almost
<br /> unusable during the summer months due to gas fumes, noise and glaring lighting.
<br /> Norman Aaro, 134 Danbury Lane, Redwood City, President of the Hampton Oaks
<br /> Homeowners Association with 123 homes, described the traffic problems incurred
<br /> due to the back-up traffic on Horgan. Mr. Aaro said the hours of operation or noise
<br /> didn't impact Hampton Oaks residents, but the bottleneck caused by the 3m island
<br /> off Horgan was a very big problem.
<br /> Dennis Symanski, 137 Danbury lane, Redwood City, said his biggest concern was
<br /> traffic on Horgan which has become hazardous, and said that was the biggest
<br /> change his neighbors noticed after the station's reopening.
<br /> Mayor Pro Tem Howard called upon others in the audience who wished to speak
<br /> to this issue. The following people spoke in favor of the continued operation of the
<br /> Woodside Gas Mart citing quality of service, good gas prices, lack of problems
<br /> with the 3m island, actual pennits approved, and support of small businesses in
<br /> Redwood City:

<br /> any testimony they had heard up to this point.
<br /> David Morgan said this station went through remediation and had state of the art
<br /> ~ equipment, and "it was not possible for this station to emit gas fumes." He said
<br /> Mr. Bailey lodged his complaints because "he got spoiled because (the gas station)
