Mayor Hartnett reported that he had received a letter from the President of the Police <br /> Officers Association, listing all the Council Members as having been sent copies of the <br /> letter, regarding the matter that Mr. Fowler addressed earlier. Mayor Hartnett sununarized <br /> the letter stating the "negotiating committee that represented the Police Officers <br /> Association and the Board of Directors of the Police Officers Association have rejected <br /> our last, best and final offer to the Association regarding settlement of the contract <br /> proposal. They have disbanded their negotiating committee, and they have indicated there <br /> will be no additional discussions at this point with the City on the last, best and final <br /> (offer)..... That is the status, and it will be a subject for (the Council) to deal with at a later <br /> time should we choose to do so."
