Mayor Hartnett reported that he had received a letter from the President of the Police Officers Association, listing all the Council Members as having been sent copies of the letter, regarding the matter that Mr. Fowler addressed earlier. Mayor Hartnett sununarized the letter stating the "negotiating committee that represented the Police Officers Association and the Board of Directors of the Police Officers Association have rejected our last, best and final offer to the Association regarding settlement of the contract proposal. They have disbanded their negotiating committee, and they have indicated there will be no additional discussions at this point with the City on the last, best and final (offer)..... That is the status, and it will be a subject for (the Council) to deal with at a later time should we choose to do so."
