The CONTRACTOR shall remove all sludge, dirt, sand, rocks, roots, grease and other solid or semisolid <br /> material resulting from the cleaning operation at the downstream manhole of the section being cleaned. <br /> Procedure for removing roots may include the use of inechanical equipment such as rodding machines <br /> and bucket machines using root cutters and porcupines. Passing material from manhole section to <br /> manhole section which could cause line stoppages, accumulations of sand in wet wells, or damage <br /> pumping equipment, shall not be permitted. Chemical root treatment shall not be used by the <br /> CONTRACTOR. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall dispose all solids or semisolids resulting from the cleaning operations from the <br /> site at a suitably sanitary landfill site as defined by the Titles 22 and 23 of the California Administrative <br /> Code. Under no circumstances will the CONTRACTOR will be allowed to accumulate debris on the site. <br /> The Contractor will be allowed to store a debris container in the City Public Works Services Division <br /> corporation yard. The removal and disposal of solids shall be included in the agreed cost. <br /> If the CONTRACTOR encounters a surcharging manhole (flow exceeds the diameter of the sewer pipe), <br /> the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City Public Works Services Division at (650-780-7464) <br /> and provide information on the cause of the blockage. <br /> The CONTRACTOR shall prevent contract operations from causing a stoppage or overflow. In the event <br /> of a stoppage or overflow, the CONTRACTOR shall immediately notify the City Public Works Services <br /> Division at(650-780-7464). The CONTRACTOR shall remove the stoppage and contain and mitigate the <br /> overflow. OverFlows shall be mitigated to the City's standards including property damage overflows that <br /> shall require cleaning and restoration. All costs for damages occasioned by the overflow are the <br /> responsibility of the CONTRACTOR. <br /> All water used in conjunction with the cleaning operations shall be metered and paid for by the <br /> Contractor. Contractor shall pay an $800 deposit to Cash Collections at City Hall, 1017 Middlefield Road <br /> for the construction meter; monthly service charge will be $270.29, in addition to the actual water usage. <br /> The receipt of payment shall be taken to the City's CDD / Public Works Services Division, 1400 <br /> Broadway, Redwood City,to pick up the water meter. <br /> CCTV Inspection <br /> Within 24 hours of cleaning the line, CONTRACTOR shall thoroughly inspect the sewer lines using CCTV <br /> equipment and WinCan version 8.30.0.2090 inspection software. The CCTV camera and monitor shall <br /> produce a minimum of 460 horizontal lines of resolution. The CCTV camera shall be a pan-and-tilt with <br /> rotating head capable of providing a 360-degree view of the inside of all pipes, connections, and any pipe <br /> defects. Video recording shall be done digitally in full color in order to provide the utmost quality viewing. <br /> Images will be in focus and done with adequate lighting to provide a clear view of the entire periphery of <br /> the line including any defects while keeping glare to a minimum. The image shall not be obscured by <br /> fogging or misting conditions when in a sewer line. <br /> The color camera shall be operative under 100 percent humidity conditions in the sewer. The center of <br /> the camera lens shall be at or above the spring line of the sewer being televised. The camera and <br /> ancillary equipment shall not block the sewage flow at any time. In cases where it will not be possible to <br /> remove a trapped camera by excavation of a sewer line, a tag line shall be attached to each end of the <br /> camera to allow the camera to be pulled out from either end. If the camera gets stuck in the sewer <br /> pipeline, the CONTRACTOR shall be responsible for all costs involved in extracting it, and shall extract <br /> the equipment in a timely manner in order to avoid interruption to sewer flow. The CONTRACTOR shall <br /> call the Community Development Department Engineering and Transportation Division at(650)780-7328 <br /> to notify of the situation. <br /> Lighting and camera quality shall be suitable to allow a clear in-focus picture for a minimum of six lineal <br /> feet of the entire inside periphery of the sewer pipe. To ensure peak picture quality throughout all <br /> conditions encountered during the survey, a variable intensity control of the camera lights and remote <br /> control adjustments for focus and iris shall be located at the monitoring station. Focal distance shall be <br /> adjustable through a range of from six inches to infinity.
