ATTACHMFNT 1 <br /> 7.1.A. - Page 10 <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> CHIEF OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (COA) <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> evaluation has been completed, it shall be presented to the employee for review and <br /> signature. An employee who receives an "unsatisfactory" evaluation will not be <br /> ineligible to receive a merit salary increase under 614.3.1 until the employee receives an <br /> overall annual performance rating of"satisfactory" or higher. <br /> Article 8: Probationary Period <br /> 8.3 Extension of the Probationary Period <br /> Upon written recommendation of the Fire Chief and approval of the Human Resource& <br /> Dii-e aA probationary period may be R' lengthened by -an amount of <br /> time corresponding to an employee's approved leave(s) of absence during the <br /> probationary period. period of4ini.e up to and including six (6) months. An extension or <br /> reduction of the probationary period shall be based on the employee's performance. <br /> Article 9: Promotion <br /> 9.4 Probationary Period for Promotional Appointments <br /> The probationary period for promotional appointments shall be one (1) year. <br /> written recommendation of the Fire Chief and approval of the Human Resource& <br /> Director, aA probationary period may be shortened er lengthened by any an amount of <br /> time corresponding to the period of time up to and including six (6) month&an employee's <br /> leave(s) of absence during the probationary period. — - -- 'e• e - <br /> probationary period shall be based on the employee's performance. <br /> Article 11: Discipline <br /> 11.1 The City may discharge, suspend, demote, and/or reduce the pay of any employee who <br /> has completed the probationary period for cause, including but not limited to the following <br /> causes, any violation of the City's Personnel Rules and Regulations or Administrative Policies, , <br /> or any other cause which is deemed proper by the City Manager: <br /> 11.1.1 Dishonesty; <br /> 11.1.2 Insubordination; <br /> 11.1.3 Intoxication or being under the influence of a controlled substance while on duty; <br /> 11.1.4 Incompetence or inefficiency; <br /> 11.1.5 Willful negligence or willful damage to public property or waste of public <br /> supplies or equipment; <br /> 11.1.6 Failure to perform work as required or failure to comply with or violation of the <br /> City's reasonable rules regarding safety, conduct and operations; <br /> 11.1.7 Unauthorized absence; <br /> 11.1.8 The commitment or conviction of any criminal act; <br /> 11.1.9 Conduct unbecoming a management employee in the public service; <br /> Page6of22 <br />
