ATTACHMENT 1 <br /> 7.1.A. - Page 13 <br /> TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> CHIEF OFFICERS' ASSOCIATION (COA) <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> date this tentative agreement is ratified and adopted, and June 30, 2012, will be eligible to <br /> . <br /> additional service credit with CaIPERS. Such payment will be made by the City into an account <br /> for the retiree within the City Council approved tax deferred IRC Section 101(a) Plan. EIP's are <br /> retirement application pending with CaIPERS at the time of service retirement, the employee is <br /> not eligible for the EIP but remains eligible-for the industrial disability retirement. An employee <br /> who elects to participate must notify the City in writing no later than three months before their <br /> planned retirement date. The details of that Plan are set forth in the Plan Document dated <br /> January I, 2004. The City may amend said Plan from time to time to conform to law and <br /> provide for the general administration of the Plan. The employee will sign a release agreement <br /> stating they agree with-these-terms and conditions of the E- P before reeeiving the-benefit. <br /> Article 14: Pay <br /> 14.2.3 Internal Alignment <br /> All COA classifications shall maintain a minimum differential of +10% above the top <br /> step of subordinate classifications. <br /> The following classifications shall be internally aligned and shall maintain the minimum <br /> top step differentials to subordinate and/or benchmark classifications as indicated <br /> throughout the term of the agreement. <br /> • Battalion Chief—20% above Fire Captain top step base salary, plus the following <br /> incentives so long as they remain in effect for Fire Captains: <br /> o Education Incentive/Longevity pay (7.5%) <br /> o Paramedic Assistance Pay (2.5%) <br /> In the event of a compaction adjustment, the increase will apply to the salary range only. <br /> Individual adjustments within the range will be at the discretion of the Fire Chief pursuant to <br /> Section 14.3. January 3l st shall be the anniversary date for performance evaluations for Battalion <br /> Chiefs hired before October 1, 2013. <br /> 14.5 Overtime <br /> 14.5.2 A forty (40) hour COA unit member who is assigned to a shift consisting of <br /> more than eight (8) consecutive hours in one (1) workday (exclusive of lunch <br /> period) shall be entitled to overtime after forty (40) hours in paid status in one <br /> (1) work week. <br /> Page 9 of 22 <br />
