7.1.A. - Page 55 TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> employees are entitled to pregnancy disability leave. Workers who are working are entitled <br /> to use personal illness and injury leave for disabilities caused or contributed to by <br /> pregnancy, miscarriage, childbirth, and recovery therefrom on the same terms and <br /> conditions governing leaves of absence for other illncy,er mcdiool--dewy. <br /> 20.6.2 <br /> 20.6.3 Such leave shall not be used for child care, child rearing, or preparation for childb ring, <br /> but shall be limited to those disabilities as set forth above. The length of such disability <br /> duties are to be resumed, shall be determined by the worker and the worker's physician; <br /> however, the Human Resources Director may require a verification of the extent of <br /> disability through a physical examination of the worker by a physician appointed by the <br /> City at the City's expense, <br /> paid—lea the worker will remain in unpaid status for the remainder of her pregnancy <br /> disability. Workers are entitled to leave without pay or other benefits for disabilities•+ e •• • wa r w a • • •r •• • a•• ••• • <br /> • exhausted. Such leave shall be deducted from accrued sick <br /> leave, and may be taken in increments of one (1) hour. Personal business leave shall be <br /> prorated for part-time workers who work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per workweek. <br /> 20,11 Leave for Union Business <br /> Any worker who shall hereafter be elected or officially appointed to a full-time paid position in the <br /> Union, which position requires absence from the City's service, shall be granted a leave of absence <br /> without pay therefore, and upon retirement from such position, shall be reinstated; provided, <br /> however, that such leave of absence shall not extend beyond the term of this Memorandum, unless <br /> extended by mutual consent. <br /> Page 9 of 20 <br />
