7.1.A. - Page 65 TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SERVICE EMPLOYEES INTERNATIONAL UNION LOCAL 521 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> The City will reimburse employees for successful completion of Management approved courses to attain <br /> qualifying certification through the City-Wide Educational Reimbursement Program or Department training <br /> budget within budgeted limits. <br /> The City will pay for the cost of successful completion of certification exams and re-certification exams. <br /> In 2011, employees in the classifications of Public Works Maintenance Worker I, II and Ill (sewer <br /> assignment only), Lead Public Works Maintenance Worker, Utilities Worker and Utilities Specialist assigned <br /> to the Wastewater Division were reclassified into new job classifications with wastewater job duties and the <br /> following certification requirements: <br /> Job Classification Certification Requirements: <br /> PWMW I-II (Wastewater) Wastewater Collection System Grade I <br /> PWMW I I I (Wastewater- Sewer Assignment Only]), Wastewater Collection System Grade I I <br /> Lead PWMW (Wastewater), Utilities Worker <br /> (Wastewater), Utilities Specialist(Wastewater) <br /> Workers in these classifications were required to obtain the above certifications by January 1, 2013. Salary <br /> schedules for the classifications of Public Works Maintenance Worker I and I I (Wastewater), Public Works <br /> Maintenance Worker III (Wastewater-Sewer Assignment Only), Lead Public Works Maintenance Worker <br /> (Wastewater), Utilities Worker(Wastewater), and Utilities Specialist (Wastewater), were increased by one <br /> percent (1%) to reflect the new certification requirements. Effective the first full pay period following <br /> February 1, 2014, salary schedules for the classifications of Public Works Maintenance Worker I and I I <br /> (Wastewater), Public Works Maintenance Worker III (Wastewater-Sewer Assignment Only), Lead Public <br /> Works Maintenance Worker(Wastewater), Utilities Worker(Wastewater), and Utilities Specialist <br /> Wastewater), will be increased by an additional one percent (1%) (for a total of two percent 2%) in <br /> recognition of the ongoing certification requirements. <br /> Wastewater and non-wastewater classifications will be treated as combined classifications, as <br /> described in Appendix A, for the purposes of layoff, bumping, and the creation of seniority lists described in <br /> Article 7. <br /> 15.15.1 Classification Study <br /> Page 19 of 20 <br />
