He said that there are some
new items and staff will come back with items like grab and go. Dr. Bell also
acknowledged that one of the speakers said that maybe the report does not go far
enough but he wanted to remind the community that this item was from the direction of
Council back in October and moreover this meeting is just one of a series of meetings.
Mayor Gee explained that the composition of the Parking Advisory Committee was
stipulated by an agreement. He said that the composition of the parking advisory
committee would be part of the future discussions.
One Council Member wanted to note that the comments from the speakers were very
beneficial.
M/S Seybert/Aguirre to introduce the ordinance and adopt the resolution. Motion
carried 6-0 by electronic vote with Council Member Bain absent.
ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
AMENDING DIVISIONS 4 THROUGH 12 OF ARTICLE VII OF CHAPTER 20 OF THE
CITY CODE OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO PARKING IN THE DOWNTOWN
AREA MINUTE ORDER 14-070
RESOLUTION NO. 15338 OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY
ADOPTING A RATE STRUCTURE AND REGULATIONS FOR PARKING ON CITY
OWNED OR CONTROLLED OFF STREET PARKING
B. Dr. Bell said that if they don't make a decision, then they
have to look at long term interim appointments. Mr. Ponty has agreed to stay on.
Recommendation:
Adopt a Resolution approving an exception to the Public Employee Reform
Act (PEPRA) 180-day waiting period to hire retired annuitant, Brian Ponty,
to perform critical Finance Director duties associated with oversight and
effective execution of Finance operations for a limited time in 2014.
RESOLUTION NO. 15339 FOR EXCEPTION TO THE 180-DAY WAIT PERIOD
TO HIRE RETIREE BRIAN PONTY AS INTERIM FINANCE DIRECTOR
M/S Pierce/Seybert to adopt the resolution.
