ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE OF THE REDWOOD CITY SCHOOL
DISTRICT
MEMO 3/20/96
C. Sequoia Union High School District
Trustee Nail said the next time the Board could vote on the issue would be the middle of
April, and the Board might as well vote this evening. He added that the amendment stating
that the agencies would not be committed to the exact structure as proposed was sufficient.
Trustee Seiling advised that the Board was in the midst of constructing its budget and the
subject $14,000 funding was put on the "maybe block." She added that it might be
hypocritical for the Board to support Redwood City 2000 "without putting our money
where our mouth is." Trustee Seiling said she supported the idea in concept, but was
concerned about the funding.
Trustee Ramirez said that "in the long run we are going to be better off.....This is going to
be in the best interest of children, and I think we need to get going and put our best foot
forward."
MIS: RAMIREZ/STUART. TITLE READ.
RESOLUTION OF COMMITMENT TO THE REDWOOD CITY 2000 PARTNERSHIP AND
APPROVAL OF THE COMMUNITY STRATEGIC PLANNING AND STAKEHOLDER
SELECTION PROCESS; (Sequoia Union High School District)
Trustee Nail said he agreed with the friendly amendment made earlier, and asked that the
following amendment be added to the School Board Resolution: "So that the top line reads
'Resolution of Commitment to the Redwood City 2000 Concept'; and the Paragraph that
says 'Now therefore be it resolved that the Sequoia Union High School District Board of
Education hereby endorses the goal of working in partnership to focus attention on
problems identified as priorities by the community embodied in Redwood City 2000
concept.' "
AMENDMENT ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE OF THE SEQUOIA
UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
RESOLUTION ADOPTED BY UNANIMOUS ROLL CALL VOTE OF THE SEQUOIA
UNION IDGH SCHOOL DISTRICT
MEMO 3/20/96
---______n_______n______---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------______n-
9.
