DES:yc:l/13/78 <br /> • <br /> ORIGINAL <br /> R E S O L U T I O N NO. 7979 Jan 16, 1978 <br /> RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY ORDERING <br /> SUBMISSION OF AN ADVISORY MEASURE REGARDING THE REDWOOD <br /> CITY REAL PROPERTY CONVEYANCE TAX TO THE ELECTORS OF THE <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION <br /> OF APRIL 11, 1978, AND EXPRESSING INTENTION OF THE COUNCIL <br /> TO COMPLY WITH THE MAJORITY VOTE OF THE ELECTORS VOTING <br /> THEREON <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. The Council of Redwood City does hereby order the <br /> submission to the electors of the City of Redwood City, in <br /> consolidation with the General Municipal Election to be held in <br /> the City of Redwood City on Tuesday, April 11, 1978, the advisory <br /> ballot proposal hereinafter set forth. <br /> (a) All electors of the City of Redwood City qualified to <br /> vote at the General Municipal Election in the City of Redwood City <br /> on April 11, 1978, shall be qualified to vote on the advisory ballot <br /> proposal submitted at said election. <br /> (b) The polls shall be opened at seven o' clock a.m. on said <br /> day of election and shall be kept open continuously thereafter until <br /> eight o'clock p.m. of said day, when the polls shall be closed <br /> (except as provided in §14301 of the Elections Code) , and the <br /> election officers shall thereupon proceed to canvass the ballots <br /> cast thereat. <br /> (c) Where a voting system is used at said General Municipal <br /> Election, the provisions of Chapter 3, Division 11, of the Elections <br /> Code shall govern such usage, and the ballot card or other device <br /> shall be prepared (1) so that any qualified elector may vote for <br /> the advisory ballot proposal by punching or otherwise specifying <br /> an affirmative vote in a space provided therefor; and (2) so that <br /> any qualified elector may vote against any such advisory ballot <br /> proposal by punching or otherwise specifying a negative vote in a <br /> space provided therefor. <br /> 7 97 9 <br />
