� " � �tEG:yc:2/6/61-7 <br /> ORD INANCE NO. 99� <br /> AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE FENCING OF SWIMMING POOLS <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN A� FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION l. Pools to be Fenced. Every person in possession <br /> of real property upon v,ihich a pool is located, including owners, <br /> lessees, tenants and licensees, shall at all times maintain <br /> on the lot or premises upon which such pool is located, and <br /> completely surrounding such pool, or complete ly surrounding <br /> the lot or premises upon which such pool is located, a fence <br /> or other structure not less than six feet in height and having <br /> no openings (other than doors, gates or windows as hereinafter <br /> provided) containing more than 36 square inches, e�cept that <br /> rectangular openings having no'�horizontal di.mension exceeding <br /> �our inches or rectangular openings having no vertical dimen- <br /> sion exceeding four inches may have a greater area. <br /> SECTION 2. Pools Defined. As used in this ordinance, <br /> the term "Pool" shall be broadly construed to include every <br /> swiuruning pool, fish pond, wading pool, tank or any other out- <br /> door structure created by artificial means, any part of which <br /> is capab le of containing water 24 inches in depth. <br /> The term "pool" shall not include tanks or ponds used in <br /> connection with a commercial or industrial process unless such <br /> tanks or ponds are located in a district zoned principally for <br /> dwellings by the Redwood City Zoning Ordinance. <br /> The term "pool" shall not include swimming pools which are <br /> located outside of any district zoned principally for dwellings <br /> by the Redwood C ity Zoning Ordinance if the person in possession <br /> of the real property upon which the pool is located provides <br /> constant supervision of the pool area at all times. <br />
