' <br /> ,. _ ,�, '°,�+' <br /> . <br /> ► <br /> 1��R�6 l <br /> O 1� D I N A N C E N O. <br /> ORDINANCE AMEN33ING SECTI4NS l, 2 AND 6 OF, AND <br /> Z�DDING SECTIONS 5.5 AND 6.5 TQ, ORDINANCE 1V0. <br /> 994, ItELATIVE TO THE FENCING OF SWIMMING POOLS <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES Oi2DAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> SECTION 1. Section 1 of Ordinance No. 994, entitled "An <br /> Ordinance Providing for the Fencing of �wimming Pools," adopted <br /> February 20, 1961, is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "SECTION 1. Pools to he Fenced. Every person in pos- <br /> session of real property upon which a pool is I.ocated, <br /> including owners, lessees, tenants and licensees, shall at <br /> all times maintain on the lot or premises upon which su�h <br /> pool is located, and completely surrounding such pool, or <br /> completely surrounding the lot or premises upon which such <br /> pool is located, a fence or other structure having no openings <br /> (other than doors, gates or windows as hereinafter provided) <br /> containing more than 36 square inches, except that rectangu- <br /> lar openings having no horizontal dimension exceeding four <br /> inches or rectangular openings having no vertical dimension <br /> exceeding four inches riay have a greater area. Such fence <br /> o-r structure shall be not less than four feet in �eight <br /> unless it is located within five feet of the proper�y line, <br /> in which event the fence or structure shall be not less than <br /> f ive feet in height." <br /> �ECTION 2. Section 2 of the above mentioned Ordinance <br /> No. 994 is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "�ECTION 2. Pools Defined. As used in this ordinance, <br /> the term 'pool' shall be broadly construed to include every <br /> swimming pool, fish pond, wading pool, tank or any other <br /> outdoor structure created by artificial means, any part of <br /> which is capable of containing water 24 inches in depth. <br /> __��,.�.�.,�..1_ .n.��.� ...�.�.,«__.. <br />
