Section 3 of Ordinance No. 1028„ entitled <br /> , "Ordinance Relating to the Construction of Emerg�ncy Disaster <br /> Shelters in the City of Redwood City, Declari.ng the Urgency <br /> Thereof, to go into Effect Immediately, " adopted October 9, <br /> 1961, as an urgency ordinance going into effect immediately, <br /> is hereby amended to read as followsc <br /> "Section 3. Location. Emerg�ncy disaster shelters <br /> may be located at any place on any parcel of real property <br /> subject only to the following conditians: <br /> ' (a) No emergency disaster shelter shall be located <br /> . „ within any street right of way, plan line or <br /> public utility, storm drainage, sanitary sewer <br /> � or water line easement. <br /> � (b) If located in any front yard area required by <br /> � any ordinance, .the complete structure shall be <br /> `a minimum of six inches below the natural grade <br /> of the yard unless said stntcture is located <br /> wholly beneath a driveway and, in that case, <br /> the complete structure shall not project above <br /> � or raise the natural grade of the driveway. <br /> (c) If located in any side or rear area required by <br /> � any ordinance, the top of a disaster shelter, <br /> � including the maximum height of fill placed on <br /> the roof, shall not be higher than three feet <br /> above the natural slope of the yard area. <br /> (d) Entrance and ventilating structures rising less <br /> than one foot above the ground in any yard area <br /> having uncontrolled access by the public shall be <br /> marked or blocked by planting or fencing or be so <br /> located as to prevent being a hazard to pedestrian <br /> traff ic . <br /> • Entrances and ventilating structures located in <br /> any required front yard area shall be screened <br /> � � � from adjacent properties and pub lic rights of way <br /> by ornamental landscaping or fencing; provided, <br /> however, that no entrance shall be located in a <br /> �...„� <br /> 't: <br /> . k i <br /> � r^ �. <br /> �� <br />
