SPECIAL ORDERS OF THE DAY <br /> A. Mayor Hartnett presented a Proclamation declaring Red Ribbon Week in Redwood City, <br /> October 23 -31, 1996, which describes City sponsored anti-drug programs and activities, <br /> and urges parents, guardians and friends to join our children in supporting anti-drug <br /> education and positive alternatives throughout our community. (207) <br /> Mayor Hartnett read the Proclamation and presented it to Redwood City Police Officer <br /> Luann Livingston who thanked the Mayor and Council for their support of Red Ribbon <br /> Week. Officer Livingston described the activities planned in Redwood City to encourage <br /> young people, their families, schools and local businesses, in the pursuit of a drug tree <br /> community. <br /> Mayor Hartnett described a recent incident in one of the City's parks where he was <br /> coaching soccer that involved young people reporting drug use on the premises. He said <br /> programs like D.AR.E. are working and helping young people to make the right choices. <br /> Mayor Hartnett described the Police Department's response to another incident in the park <br /> MINUTE BOOK NO. 54 <br /> Page No. 513 <br />
